Distilled Water

What is Distilled Water?

Excellent at removing all dissolved solids and bacteria with “phase change” to steam

This is an in-efficient less popular method. The boiling process will not remove Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs). These are contaminants, which vaporize at less than 100 degrees (eg pesticides, chlorine, fertilisers etc) and will rejoin the end product water in the condenser.

The boiling element also literally burns or the naturally dissolved oxygen in water and incinerates particles in contact with it. This can cause a “burnt” taste and is possibly why some people refer to distilled water as “dead” or “flat”.
